I want to encourage reading and creativity, so decorations are bright and inviting. By the time my students leave me, I
wish for them to be on their own path of reading and discovery. The "You Said It" board is meant for quotes by students
throughout the year- to let them shine!

What they did: 3rd Grade Classroom
My goal this year was to create a classroom environment that was fun but very consistent for my students. All my bulletin
boards are black paper with either green or blue polka dot. Classrooms with too much going on can over stimulate the
kiddos. I spent this summer finding fun pieces to add to my classroom library. I enjoy being in my classroom and so do my
students!

What they did: 2nd Grade Classroom
My room is in a jungle theme. My listening center has a dry erase table top where they answer questions on it after they listen to the story, then draw their favorite part of the story on the chalkboard wall. My reading center has a comfy place where they can read with a friend and then answer questions on the dry erase side of the petition located behind the reading center curtain. Then they can draw their favorite part of the story on chalkboard side. Seat covers, table skirts, curtains, and cutouts add to the jungle decor.

What they did: 1st Grade Classroom
My classroom is a home-like environment. I have used mellow and calming shades of blue, yellow, green and tan. My students, parents, and I are very excited about this classroom environment set up for exceptional learning. The students have also been provided with many areas of relaxation to complete their Daily 5 work. It is made for them to make themselves comfortable, feel trusted, and have an environment to call their own. My attendance has gone up since decorating my classroom in this manner.
